bbq smoker cabinet for patio

Er, I mean “The Patio Fireplace/Grill/Smoker. at Hammacher Schlemmer” …

I first saw this thing posted on Food-Gadgets last week sometime, but I didn’t get to check it out fully.

You can make six feet high of steaks all at once on it, or you could get a whole loin and “hang large primal cuts vertically from the meat hook on the grill smoker’s ceiling”. I don’t know if that sounds delicious or horrifying. I can just picture some creepy old Adderall junkie in a half bathrobe and bermuda shorts, holding a gigantic FORK standing next to this thing with a crazed grin on his face. That’s what I can picture.

It was a pretty good weekend for steak pictures, on account of it being Memorial Day here in the states, which is when we celebrate the fallen who have defended our country’s honor and sovereignty, by cooking meat on fire and getting completely tossed on coolers full of cheap beer.

Oh and frisbee. There’s usually some frisbee, too.

This is a pretty big deal for us. Probably not such a big deal for you. But stay tuned. We’ve got some surprises in store for SteakFEED.com.

You might observe things get bumpy or flaky. Or, considering the fact that there are so few of you, reading so seldom, this whole thing might pass by completely unnoticed.

If a blog crashes but nobody reads it, does it make a sound?

Our gmail <steakfeed AT gmail.com > has gone astray. In all honesty, we forgot we had it and never went to read it.

Now we find that a few of you have written. We apologize, and promise it will never happen again.

Now then… what was it you were saying? You want to Write For Us?

May 25, 2007 2:00 pm

Steakfeed would really like to be a big shared resource of steak dining and preparation writings by a happy community of steak enthusiasts. We need your help to do that!

If you’re crazy about steak, whether it be the steakhouse dining experience, finding really great steak meals on the cheap or on the street, or your absolute favorite grilling or marinade secret recipe … You should share it with the world! Bring your words and your steak knives, but please leave the A-1 sauce in the fridge for the next time you make meatloaf.

Write for steakfeed, and share the meat!

I think I’ve heard of this before. Before I went to Vegas with My Fiancee last year, I was looking into where best to have steaks there, and ran across some who were disappointed in Ellis Island Casino and Brewery.

But, it would seem that from me with lots n love: foodie review, ellis island steak special counter-indicates those impressions somewhat. Here:

since eating there i’ve actually dreamed about it several times.

… to summarize, we asked for the off-the-menu steak special and got (with excellent service) a delicious 10 ounce steak, the size and shape almost like a softball, a really good baked potato (i even ate the skin it was that good) with butter and sour cream, a lot of green beans which were so-so, and a green salad.

… nothing can beat a steak dinner for less than $5.

The emphasis there is mine, which is my way of trying really hard to remember “order the off-the-menu steak special at Ellis Island in Vegas!!”

Gentlemen, for those who have had no luck in charming a dame, fear not my fellow citizens, for the minds of D and I have constructed the ultimate pick-up line to be used throughout the coming ages of men. For those who want a solution from the growing epidemic of their lacking charm, grace and posture, look no further and read below!

This masterplan was devised through careful research and hours of studying. This fool-proof plan has been called, “Steak Man.”

    skinny bird.

as the sinews and fibers of cattle muscle tear against your teeth.
    grind.
    grind.
as the sickening blood drips into your jouls.
because all you cannibals like it rare; half living.

So……went to Bob’s Steak and Chop House last night. DAMN i love that place! I can’t ever think of a better steak i’ve ever had. […] We ordered the cheapest bottle of wine on the menu, Sebastiani Zinfandel. Even the cheap stuff is probably like the high end stuff at Steak and Ale. Great wine…..a lil sweet but it’s red, so keep that in mind. Not at all what you’re thinking about Zinfandel Good Stuff.

I’ll try to set me up some reminders to go there and rustle up the best pictures of steak I find. Every week or so. Probably Friday.
Dangit! Now it’s not even lunchtime and my steak hankerin is off the hook!

Victoria Reynolds paints pictures of meat from Dethroner.

Dethroner is one of my favorite sites, because they have balls.

And sensitivity. They have that too.

I’m not sure about Victoria Reynolds’s paintings of meat. They’re kind of gross. Maybe that’s the point? Anyway, not so much really about steak, as about meat in general. Just don’t think about these pictures too much, or you might stop wanting to eat flesh.

I like this post, if only for the recipe for a Ginger-Soy Marinade for steak. Haven’t tried it, but you can be sure I will.

I’m sort of confused about the blog this is from though. It’s the Top Chef’s Recipe blog, but it doesn’t really seem to be related to the Bravo TV show of the same name.

psst. I have a question for you, it’s not right for the bride-to-be to put limits on what kind of fun stuff I can do for the wedding+reception is it? Like: “Top hat or meat cake. but not both!” I mean, yeah yeah. It’s her special day and all that claptrap. But, it’s fricken my special day too, right? I can put Judas Priest in the after-dinner playlist, right??
